چکیده
Performance analysis plays an essential role in achieving a scalable performance of applications on massively parallel supercomputers equipped with thousands processors. This paper is empirical investigation to study, depth, the two most common High-Performance Computing architectures world. IBM has developed three generations Blue Gene supercomputers—Blue Gene/L, P, and Q—that use, at large scale, low-power processors achieve high performance. Better CPU core efficiency been empowered by higher level integration gain more parallelism per processing element. On other hand, Intel Xeon Phi coprocessor armed 61 on-chip x86 cores, provides theoretical peak performance, as well software development flexibility existing high-level programming tools. We present extensive evaluation study peaks scalability these modern using SPEC OMP benchmarks.

SPEComp: A New Benchmark Suite for Measuring Parallel Computer Performance
We present a new benchmark suite for parallel computers. SPEComp targets mid-size parallel servers. It includes a number of science/engineering and data processing applications. Parallelism is expressed in the OpenMP API. The suite includes two data sets, Medium and Large, of approximately 1.6 and 4 GB in size. Our overview also describes the organization developing SPEComp, issues in creating ...
متن کاملScalable performance analysis of massively parallel stochastic systems
The accurate performance analysis of large-scale computer and communication systems is di-rectly inhibited by an exponential growth in the state-space of the underlying Markovian per-formance model. This is particularly true when considering massively-parallel architecturessuch as cloud or grid computing infrastructures. Nevertheless, an ability to extract quanti-tative performa...
متن کاملPerformance evaluation of parallel systems
In this paper performance evaluation methodologies that have been applied in the analysis of parallel systems are reviewed together with the specific performance metrics. We concentrate on a few selected performance studies of parallel system components, i.e., processor, memory, interconnection network, input/output, and operating system. We demonstrate the utility of the performance evaluation...

The objective of ESPRIT-project 6731 FTMPS [1] is to develop techniques and system software to integrate Fault Tolerance in Massively Parallel Systems [2] . This covers the whole range from error detection, over fault-diagnosis and fault isolation to system and application recovery. Important is the research for applicability in massively parallel systems as well as the development of system so...
متن کاملPerPreT - A Performance Prediction Tool for Massively Parallel Systems
Today’s massively parallel machines are typically message passing systems consisting of hundreds or thousands of processors. Implementing parallel applications efficiently in this environment is a challenging task. The Performance Prediction Tool (PerPreT) presented in this paper is useful for system designers and application developers. The system designers can use the tool to examine the effe...
